Texas Roadhouse never fails me! I decided to venture out and enjoy some ribs with my family. I had the pleasure of not only enjoying a wonderful meal, which TRH consistently provides but I also had a wonderful server/bartender named Amber! I'm not always the easiest customer to deal with but she was totally a dream. I took my mother to an early dinner and she prefers to have her meal piping hot and always likes to have her salad with her meal as I like to have an appetizer, salad and then my meal but we like to eat at the same time. So timing is an issue but Amber made it all happen. But what made her service wonderful was her personality! She was so gregarious with all of her guest as well as being so attentive. We had a slight issue with our steak so the manager visited our table to ensure the returned steak was cooked to perfection...which it was! Every time we dine at TRH the experience and food is great so we will be back again and again.

Took the family here to celebrate my daughter's graduation. All 6 in our party were pleased with the food and the service. The restaurant even celebrated the graduates. You can get a good quality steak without paying high steakhouse prices. The bread and butter is a great starter. We had 2 Texas combos of Ribeye and ribs with a big baked potato loaded, Shrimp combo with rice, Smothered Pork chops and 2 bacon cheeseburgers. Everyone left happy and satisfied. This location has not failed me yet. Keep up the good work.

I absolutely love the TRH in Bowie, MD, so when I found out there was one in LaPlata, which is a bit closer to where my boyfriend lives, I was THRILLED!!! We have visited this location twice and both times were just OK. The first time we went, I discovered that the food did not have the same taste/quality as the one in Bowie. I get it...different chefs, but really? The first time we went, I had the grilled shrimp dinner. It was ok but not nearly as awesomely seasoned as the same dish in the Bowie location. I let it slide.... This last time we went, I had the pulled pork, which dinner, which is a fav at the Bowie location and based on the picture I've attached, someone forgot to pull the port apart before serving it to me! I was disgusted and vowed never to return to this location unless I am in the mood for a salad. Hopefully they couldn't mess that up. Finally, we had to ask for bread after being seated for a few minutes. The one in Bowie SEATS you with bread. There just is no comparative. I give it 2 stars only because I like the one in Bowie.

You get a lot for course meal and your already full from the appetizers. Good for afterwork or happy hour.

Went here last night with my travel buddy, her ex-bf, her bestie, and her family after coming back from her sister's Addams Family play at La Plata High School (it was too funny and cute lol). It looked like a really nice and loud place. We didn't wait too long to be seated (people who were there first were being seated before us, so we waited for less than 35 minutes). There were a lot peanut shells in the decorative waiting area by the jukebox, kinda added to the character of the place lol. My table ordered the cacti blossom as a free appetizer with a coupon my travel buddy/friend's lil sister had. The blossom was really good. And we had unlimited bread rolls (coupon not required lol) and the butter we spread on them was soooo good!!! Tasted like it had some cinnamon too. For dinner, I ordered the Smokehouse Burger well-done, it was pretty good and so were the fries (especially when you add ketchup on them). Wasn't able to finish my burger (was kinda full from the fries and appetizer as well as from the pho I had for lunch a few hours ago at the time), but I have leftovers!!! :) Our waitress was pretty nice and chill, forgot her name unfortunately. Would definitely patronize this place again.

The food and service were ok but the noise level was so high I don't know how any one can enjoy themselves or hold a normal conversation . The music was to loud causing everyone else to raise their voices then the woman at the bar was trying to broadcast something screaming out into the restaurant. All the noise made my visit less than enjoyable.

Service was good. Had to send back our onion as it wasn't fully cooked but they replaced that right away. Rest of the food was good. I would come back again.

We try it like a few days after they were opening. We didn't have to wait long at all and when we got seated it was easy. Our waitress was amazing and she was dancing/playing with my son. The rolls were amazing. All of our food including my portbella chicken was delicious and my son loved his mac & cheese. It was amazing My 2nd experience was awful and they didn't have it warm at all. They gave me no gravy and we had to ask for it. Our waitress wasn't nearly as awesome and they didn't dance :(

We go here often and the service is always good. We signed up for their e-mail list and they frequently send us quality coupons. The price is as good or better than similar local restaurants, even without coupons. The last 3 times my wife and I ate dinner at TR, the manager made a point to come to our table and ask us about our experience, which was enjoyable every time. We went to Outback in La Plata last night for my wife's birthday and we had a poor experience that reaffirmed my high regard for Texas Roadhouse.

    Okay chain place.

Pleasantly surprising. I'm not generally a fan of chain steakhouses (other than the Outback), based on historically mediocre food. But my father and I stopped here on the way back to MD from the Northern Neck area of VA, and I would definitely eat here again. We had to wait a few minutes to be seated. It was 5pm, and the place was pretty full already. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. Of course, we pigged out on the free in-the-shell peanuts because they were so good and because we just couldn't stop eating them. I ordered a root beer (Yay, they have root beer!) and my father ordered a cherry limeade that he raved about for days afterward. He'd been to Sonic in the southern states (no Sonic near them in MD) and raved about a strawberry limeade he'd gotten, so I talked him into trying this one and he loved it. We both had salads (included with meal) that were fresh, appropriately sized, and tasty. We both ordered the "road kill," a dubiously named but tasty entree of chop steak covered with grilled onions, mushrooms and cheese. The waiter talked my father into getting brown gravy on his, and he said it was good. I skipped the gravy on mine. The meal was tasty, cooked as ordered, and tender. The sides that came with it were good, too. I think that the food and value were very good for the price (the entrees were less than $10.) I'd definitely go back, and would recommend. I'm also more willing to visit another one of these elsewhere.

Good food, and portions. Pick your own steaks or specify what size cut you want priced by the oz. Fresh sides as is not canned but fresh vegetables. Didn't have room for desert after my big ole steak but maybe next time. Cooked to order but could use a little more seasoning to the beef. The mushrooms on top the steak were very good. Ate all of them before I even touched the steak. Fresh baked bread rolls served warm with a butter, honey, cinnamon spread on the side was good too. Went on a sunny Saturday afternoon and the wait wasn't bad about 10 minutes, but I hear they have good happy hours and other stuff as well. I'll be back

Every single time I go here, the service is OUTSTANDING. I've never had a single complaint with the superior service or the food. Everything comes out cooked to perfection, refills are brought promptly (before you've taken the last sip of your drink before) and the wait staff is super friendly and informative.

  • Steve C.

The food is usually decent and the beer is cold. However the wait times are not even close to what they tell you. 20 min = at least an hour. And they don't tell you that if you didn't call ahead they take all of those people before you. So if you don't call ahead plan on an hour of eating peanuts in the wait area. Other than that things are decent, service is ok and food is typical for a chain place. Recommendation: Call ahead and get seated on time. Or sit in the waiting area, have a few drinks and some peanuts. Then order whatever looks good to you but make sure to get the chili as a side because it is worth it.

I didn't come in with high expectations, but the food was actually pretty darn good and my bf's burger was SO AMAZING.

If I could use one word to describe my meal it would be "salt". I had the country fried chicken with white gravy, the mashed potatoes with all of the crap (sour cream, cheese, bacon) on them, and green beans. While they all were salty, the gravy and the potato were exceptionally salty (the bacon on the potato was the source).

I was visiting my daughter and her husband. On our last evening together I wanted to take them out for dinner somewhere fun, so we went to The Roadhouse. We were seated immediately. The waiter came over and started pushing drink specials. I told him I wanted water and he made a face at me! I told him that I would not be making a face at the woman who was tipping him at the end of the meal. We ordered .... Appetizer came, then salad. We got our steaks and the filet my daughter ordered was actually gray inside, even though she had ordered it medium. They put in another filet for her, which took about 15 minutes, so we couldn't even have a meal together. Finally it came, but we were so irritated , we just wanted to take it to go. Even though the waiter knew we were unhappy, he kept trying to upsell us dessert, coffee, drinks. Here is a tip for you: Just cook the food right. Upselling is a practice more restaurants are adopting, but if your customers aren't happy with the most basic order.... don't keep trying to sell them something else. It shows you clearly don't give a crap about their experience there, and I personally work way to hard to spend my money in a place that is all about the bottom line, not my satisfaction. I wanted a nice evening out with my family, I didn't want to feel like I was getting hustled by a car salesman.

Awesome service. Our server made the whole experience absolutely GREAT. I'm not even a big steak eater. Tim was a real great waiter... Maybe even the best I've had at a chain restaurant. We went on a Tuesday with the kids and they had kid activities.... Great place

I love the Texas Roadhouse -- I wish I lived closer to La Plata. I live in Alexandria, and it's the closest one to us. The Roadhouse (heeeyahhh!) is a very consistent restaurant chain. Each one looks the same, and has helpful employees, and the same delish food for a reasonable price. I like the 6 oz. sirloin and fries and broccoli -- I love that you get two sides with each steak!

We were hankering for some steaks today so we hopped on the motorcycle and headed to Texas Roadhouse in La Plata for late lunch/early dinner. This place is our go to place for steaks. We've traveled around the country and been to more upscale steak houses but this place never disappointed us. EVER! It's better than Big Texan in Amarillo, TX for sure! We always get the rib eye - they're melt in your mouth tender . Their hot rolls with cinnamon butter is to die for and, like the roasted peanuts, they're free! The caesar salad and bloomin onions are so yummy. I just wish they give more than 2 light and crunchy croutons. I guess I'll ask if they could put 5 instead of just 2 croutons next time as they taste soooo good! We never had to wait long for our food, but it could be due to the time of day we were there. Our waiter was very attentive to all our needs! You really get a lot for you money in this establishment and who doesn't like that?

Country fried steak makes me crave it for days after. So good. The sides are lacking something...don't know what but I can never pick a side because none really appeal to me. There are a lot of potato choices in the side options! Fries are TOO salty. Couldn't eat them. The bread is so good. And with that cinnamon honey butter....my mouth is watering. Yeah, it's very noisy. But the waiters are always friendly and engage in conversation with my chatty boyfriend.

They were packed but you would never have known. Service was fast and wait staff very friendly. We were asked by numerous staff how the food was which was very nice. Prime rib was cooked perfectly. Definitely coming back.

Food was hot and tasted good. A lot of staff on, but they needed more direction. Bartenders only engage the regulars they know. If you don't engage the new people, they won't return to become a regular.

Our server Tim is the greatest! He refilled drinks without having to ask, constantly checked up on us to verify we had everything we needed and promptly made sure our food was brought out and correct. The food was great. Their country fried chicken with a side of mashed potatoes is really huge. The bread is the best compared to any restaurant and the prices are extremely reasonable. I would definitely recommend calling ahead for seating so you can be seated right away. During a tornado warning and widespread electrical outage in our area and a current 30 min wait, we were able to walk in, get seated, eat, and leave in 40min flat; with a baby! It was an awesome experience and I will definitely be going back real soon.

I am giving this place 5 stars because the service was amazing. The food was about 3 stars. I don't even remember what I had, but it was decent enough that I would return. Plus they give you little incentives- peanuts, coupons to comeback, B-Day vouchers. Plus the Manager was so friendly & professional. Check them out.

I went to this location last Thursday (6/13/2013) for a last day of school celebration with my daughter and Grandparents. I have to say, the last time I was here the food was "meh" at best and the "adult drinks" were horrid, I sent both back and got water..however, something changed in the 3 months since then because the food and service was outstanding! I ordered the Dallas filet cooked medium and it was PERFECT! It was so tender it was like butter. I also got the sweet potato (plain) and the Ceaser salad. My 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the dressing on the salad. Somewhere along the line they changed it, and it was very bland and pretty tasteless so please go back to the one before!! Our server was very attentive and we never had to ask for anything, it was just automatically brought. Four 3 adults and 1 child the bill was around $70 for all of us ordering steak and shrimp, plus 2 margaritas. I hope the quality of service and food remains because I'd love to come back!!

For a chain restaurant, they are pretty good. The steaks are usually very tasty, and the prices are very reasonable. Downsides: some of the sides are too greasy or disappointing, and the noise level can get ridiculous. They do those cheesy songs and crap. Still, good place all in all.

Food is 50/50, sometimes good, sometimes not. The rolls are amazing. The cooks don't know anything past rare when it comes to meat, so have fun sending your burger/ steak back multiple times. Service is crazy slow, unless you're a cute guy or friends of the staff, then you're fine. That's what happens when the majority of your staff consists of giggly teenage girls. Management is less than stellar, they don't give a shit about anything, so if you have issues they zone out then usually give some polished version of "sucks for you". I've had the misfortune of dining here multiple times with groups, and every time our waitress has vanished once food has been ordered. Also, the layout is weird, it gets crowded and hard to navigate, and NOT handicap or high-chair friendly. There are also no tables, only raised booths, so large groups should go elsewhere cause they can't accommodate you unless you don't mind your party being stretched across multiple booths.

Finally checked out this place after driving by it so many times. Must say that I was very impressed with the quality of food here! The service was excellent as well despite some of the negative reviews. Had the smokehouse burger with fries. The burger was insanely large and juicy! Fries well seasoned too. The biggest surprise was the freshly made bread rolls they serve at onset! OMG! Me and the wife ate 2 baskets of them before our food came out! I honestly could not stop eating them until they brought out the food! lol Honestly, am afraid we may become addicted to those indelible guys! Anyway, prices were reasonable and decor was OK. The place could have been a little cleaner with all of the peanut shells on the floor. However, will not prevent me from coming back again. 4 stars.

Food is really good but the lack of service makes the whole experience unworthy. The staff is slow and not friedly at all. Also, I'm not a huge country music fan and the twang was blaring! I've been there about 3 times and I have finally given up.

Texas Roadhouse is, IMO, the best restaurant in La Plata. Opened about 2 years ago, it is home to the best steak I have ever had. The USDA Choice sirloin is full of flavor, and not one ounce of fat can be found. It melts in your mouth and has perfect seasoning. For $9.99 you can get an 8 oz sirloin steak with 2 sides and unlimited home baked bread. Their house salads have freshly grated american cheese and the best croutons. I recommend the honey mustard dressing. Their rolls are soft and hot and come with cinnamon sugar butter. So good! Their BBQ chicken is good and their pulled pork sandwich is above average. The restaurant is usually noisy, even on a weeknight, so be prepared for that. Customer service is excellent and the staff has always been friendly and helpful all the times I've been there. The only bad thing about this restaurant is the floor is greasy and very slippery from all the peanut shells that are thrown on the floor. Overall, I recommend this place to anyone who loves a good steak and a good deal!
